These photos were taken by our photographer,  Mr  .O.T Salami.The makeup was done by our artist and model, Ejiro Ogono dressing by Ufuoma  Ogono. It was all accomplished with the approval and under the supervision of the CEO, C. O. Ogono. This is the traditional Benin attire for a bride- to -be on her wedding day.  The beads are a symbol of royalty and purity. It starts with the headrest and hair pins which add that special glamor was befitting a queen.

It is important to note that in Nigeria, a bride is responsible for choosing what she wants to wear on the day of her traditional wedding ceremony. This excludes the last outing. If you have never experienced a traditional wedding in Nigeria, then this may look rather strange to you. The summary of it all is this; while the groom and his family negotiate with the family of a bride in a different room, the bride is treated to what is commonly called her outing. She is dressed in various traditional attires, one after the other. After she is adorned with attire, several photos are taken. The bride is not allowed to leave the room until she has been summoned by the family. It is at this point that she is expected to wear her culture specific outfit.

Many brides like to try out the attires of the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria;
Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa.
Many others dress in up to ten attires. There is no clear-cut rule concerning how a Nigerian bride is expected to wear on her wedding day neither is there any rule concerning how many traditional attires a bride should change into on her wedding day.
At Orue catering services Port Harcourt, we offer over 20 different traditional attires to any individual in Port Harcourt who is in need of catering services, event planning, consulting services, etc.
